3 Days Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the park covers an area of 321 square kilometers and is among the oldest forests, lasting for over 25,000 years. You will be able to track one of the 20 habituated mountain gorilla families which are found in four sectors. Besides the gorillas, there are other primates such as red tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys among others, and birds. Gorilla trekking takes approximately two to eight hours. Hikers, with the help of a porter if requested, will have a great time climbing up and about the rolling hills.

Day 01: Travel to Bwindi National Park

Leave Kampala for your first day of gorilla trekking in Bwindi, about an eight-hour drive. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is located in southwestern Uganda in Kisoro District. You will have an en route stopover at the Uganda Equator crossing for photography and experiment before continuing to Mbarara town for lunch. After lunch, you will embark on your scenic drive to Bwindi National Park, where you will spot beautiful nature images all the way to the Virunga massive. Upon your late arrival in the evening, dinner and overnight at booked accommodation.

Day 02: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi National Park

Pick up early after your breakfast by your driver, then transfer to the park headquarters to join other groups for a gorilla tracking briefing about the dos and don’ts. Once done and allocated to a group of eight, you will trek half an hour to six hours through thick forest with your guides to find the gorilla group. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to trekkers. On your trek, you are likely to spot other primates, birds and rare tree species.  After finding the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them before trekking back to the park headquarters. Later in the afternoon, take a village walk to see how the people surrounding the Forest live. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 03:  Drive back to Kampala/Entebbe Airport

Have breakfast, and then drive back to Kampala/Entebbe, having an en-route stopover at Igongo cultural center to explore the culture of Ankole region, and then continue on the drive to Kampala/Entebbe Airport.  End of 3 Days Gorilla Tracking tour.
