The 3 days Murchison Falls safari exposes you to Uganda’s largest national park, which is located in northwestern Uganda, approximately six hours’ drive from the city of Kampala. The park was gazetted in 1926 as a game reserve, and is noted for Savannah grasslands and the Victoria Nile flowing through, separating it into two (the northern and southern banks). With over 451 bird species, it is famous for bird watching, while its 76 mammal species make it the best place for game drives. Above it all, the magnificent and thunderous Murchison Falls squeeze their way through a gorge that is eight meters wide. All said, this is an opportunity to enjoy both our Uganda safari game drives and the best cruises along the Nile River.
Day 01: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park
After an early breakfast, your driver guide will pick you up from your hotel or your place of residence. He will brief you about your 3 Days Murchison Falls Safari, and you will start your six-hour journey to Murchison Falls National Park. You will go through the Luwero district and later have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking. The next stop after rhino tracking will be in Masindi for lunch, after which we will proceed to Murchison Falls National Park, spotting various animals such as warthogs and baboons as we drive to the lodge. Relax the whole evening, and have dinner and an overnight: Paraa Safari Lodge.
Day 02: Morning game drive and a boat cruise on the river Nile
Wake up early for coffee at around 6:30 am and head out for morning game drive. While on the game drive you will be in a position to see a variety wild animals within the park, such as lions, leopards, buffalos, giraffes, elephants, many species of antelopes, and many bird species. After the game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast, relax/freshen up, and then have lunch as you prepare for the amazing afternoon boat cruise.
On the cruise, you will be able to spot water animals such as Nile crocodiles, hippos, and elephants along the banks as well as different beautiful birds such as the bee eaters, the colored kingfishers, and shoe bill stork and many others. Have dinner and overnight: Paraa Safari Lodge.
Day 03: Departure/Return to Kampala
Have your breakfast and then enjoy another game drive on your way back to Kampala. Spot other wild animal species, not forgetting a number of bird species. Have a stopover and stretch at Kabalega Dinner and continue with the journey, reaching Kampala in the evening.
